Foot Health

Ever think about how many hours a day you stand or walk? Taking good care of your feet is important as we rely on them to take us where we need to go. Giving your feet some care could help prevent issues like Plantar fasciitis or Achilles tendonitis from developing.

We rely on our feet everyday and most of the time we don’t even think about what it would be like if it was too painful to stand up in the morning or walk downstairs to get breakfast. Developing plantar fasciitis can cause severe pain in the arches of the foot and is usually in the tendons of the Plantar muscle that connect to the heel or just before your toes. Pain usually starts first thing in the morning and is the most severe the first couple of steps out of bed. Once the muscles on the bottom of your feet warm up the pain isn’t as bad, but without treatment the scar tissue can worsen and cause even more pain every day.

Achilles tendonitis is another over use injury that can occur if the feet and the calves if they are not taken care of. If you do a lot of walking or running regularly, the tendon on the back of your leg can build up scar tissue and become very painful with certain movements of the ankle. Massage therapy can help break down that scar tissue and relieve any pain from the calf, the heel, and into the foot.

By getting treatment regularly, you can help stop the build up of scar tissue and relieve any foot or tendon pain. Massage Therapy is great for preventative care for your feet before you develop foot related issues. If you have foot pain, book a massage today!

COVID-19 Update

Due to the State of Emergency announced in Waterloo Region this past week and the mandate put forth by PHA and my governing college (CMTO), I will be temporarily keeping my Massage Therapy Clinic closed at this time. As I am unsure as to when it will be safe to reopen, I will be contacting clients on a weekly basis who have an upcoming appointment to cancel their treatments and will be placing them on a rebook list for when this outbreak has passed.
